shamrocks

Thank you so much for all the comments and emails regarding my dog Mandy. It was a tough week and my 5 year old is really missing her as am I. Time will heal us and I know it was her time to go......I just really miss her. :(

Moving on...I really loved my Valentine's crochet heart garland and my felt heart garland so I decided to carry them over to St. Patrick's Day since I have zero decor for it. I love how they turned out!

Trying to dress up my ugly fireplace, it's a project on my never ending to-do list.
I just googled the shamrock and printed one the size I wanted. Easy peasy!
I did lucky 7 on each one

I found a pattern for the shamrock here. These were super easy and quick to make!
I meant to put 7 on a strand but after I put it up I recounted and realized I can't count. Oops. I did get 7 on the other one I made tough.

rip Mandy♥

Yesterday I had to make the most difficult decision I've ever made.

I had to make the decision to put my beloved dog to rest.

She had been sick for a long time so it wasn't a surprise.

It was very difficult for my husband and I but luckily we had each other to lean on.

The vet was very comforting and compassionate.

Once she got the sleepy injection before the final one, she was calm.

We sat with her for about 45 minutes and it was perfect.

She was calm and relaxed like she was before she got sick.

It was so nice to see her like that, I had forgotten what she was like before she was sick.

She wasn't scared, I think she was ready.

We left her in really good hands.

I miss her dearly.

The house is so quiet without her.

My girls were very upset when we told them.

I was very upset to have to tell them.

Mandy made it to her 11th birthday.

She lived a great life.

I was proud to be her mommy.

She left us so many happy memories.

She will never be forgotten.

She will always be loved.

Always.

Last goodbye

instagram? {I'm late in the game}

I must be one of the last people to try out the instagram app.
I've heard of it for a long time and see these great photos that people take with their phones and wonder how the heck they are doing it. I guess I never put it together and I feel so stupid now for not knowing it sooner!

I played around with it the other day and took some photos of my day and I thought I'd share a typical day in the life of me.

I am a very grump blob in the morning. Don't mess with me.

Dog and cat still sleepy in the morning.

The pill pile for my dogs.

I normally have a banana for breakfast but they weren't ripe so I treated myself to a bagel with my cream cheese.

I got some apples ready to throw in the dehydrator for apple chips.

There's Mickey! Every day until our vacation to Disney Mickey finds a new place to visit around the house.

Gotta get the laundry going.

Goodbye tumble weed pet hair!

Hello clean floors!

Oops, forgot to feed the dogs.

Now that the dirty work is over I wash away any leftover grumpiness.

MUCH better.

Throw on a little makeup and send a kiss to my husband.
My lips look HUGE!

Lunch time!! Leftover pepperoni bread, sausage and a "snickers bar" I made for dessert.

What to wear, what to wear??

Do some work. I my customers!

Run some errands.
Yes my gas light is on(I still had 19 miles), my service light is on, and my tires all need to be filled. Someday.

Volunteer at the school library. This was after I put away all the books on the middle shelf.

Hello cuties!

After that I was to busy to even think about farting around with some photos.
I really like how my photos turn out with instagram, I'll be taking a lot more photos now for sure!

ballerina skirt

Remember last weekend when I said I was busy. Here is what I was up to.

I saw a beautiful skirt and I knew I had to make it. I had yards of beautiful chiffon that I was dying to use up and this skirt was the perfect project for it.

Here is the skirt from kojo Designs

I was going to wing it and make my own but then after searching her site, I found that she posted a tutorial! Here is what I came up with...

tag sale steals

I have been having a lot of fun with the surprise my husband bought for me at a tag sale. But there is more to the story.

The lady who was having the tag sale was a retired costume designer and in her advertisement along with the typical tag sale things, she said she had a dress form and fabric. I spotted the dress form right away when I drove up but no fabric.

I paid $50 for this, it's pretty much brand new.

I ask her about the fabric and she said it's in her basement and I can go look through and anything will be 50 cents a yard. Well for 50 cents I thought she'd have 30 year old flower fabrics in a dusty box, right?I have never been so impressed in my life. I am kicking myself in the butt that I didn't snap a photo of this lady's basement! It was a mini Joann's, seriously. She had hundreds of bolts of fabric, hundreds of trims and probably close to a thousand patterns, I was in awe.

Because one of my goals this year is to use up the fabrics that I have, I really had to be picky even though I wanted to take everything she had. Here is what I picked out...

This is no way made any kind of dent in the fabric she had. This is maybe 30 yards of fabric and I only paid $7.50 for it. Unbelievable. Get this, my husband said I should have bought a lot more. I guess I should have for that price but I wanted to be realistic and just buy what I knew I could use in the next few months.

Who knows, maybe I'll go back and get some more.... :)
